Cayman/Boxster disc pad warning light

Hello, I have an 05 Cayman S but I suspect this will apply to anyone with a Boxster also.
My disc pad warning light is on. It comes on mostly as soon as I turn on the ignition, is does not come on when I first hit the brakes it is normally already on by then.

I have checked the pads and they are all fine, brake fluid level also. I suspect a wire break between a sensor and where they return to for monitoring. I would like to know where the other end of the sensor wire goes to so that I can put a meter on to check. Anyone know where this is located and if it is easy to get at ?

This is my first post so I apologise if this topic has already been covered. I tried a seach but could not find much.
Many thanks
Sean

Taking the wheel off you should be able to physically check the wear sensor cables for breaks. If you unplug them at the wheelarch you can check for continuity. Lots of owners reuse the old sensor wires when renewing pads - this is fine if you change pads very early.

Thanks for your reply Black80XSA, I have already disconnected the sensor connetor at each wheel and shorted out the terminals that run back to the car electronics to try and make the light go out. However the light does not go out and so I suspect the wire is broken between the sensor connector and the end in the car electrics somewhere. I want to try and locate the other end of the sensor wires in teh car so I can test with a meter and see if one is broken.
