Cayman Coolant Level

Good question, I would love to know as well! They should really add an option to the on-board computer to check the coolant levels as it does with the oil levels.

Does anyone know how you can check the coolant level on a 2011 Cayman? On my previous 2004 Boxster they was a little window on the side of the coolant header tank which you could see in the rear boot - no such thing on the Cayman.

Other than unscrewing the cap and sticking my finger in, I can't see how I could check the level. (I suppose I could read the instruction manual, but it's a "bloke thing" not to read the instructions for anything unless absolutley necessary).

Do I just rely on a warning light coming on if it gets low?

And it was the same on the Gen 1 too but personally if it's half an inch below min when cold it's ok

Thanks for the replies. I'll make a point of popping the cap off and checking every couple of weeks when I do the tyre pressures etc.
