Am I mad you know you dont even have to ask that question here derek[:D] clearly stark raving!!must be all those years spent flying around in such thin air!! looking forward to pics of your gen 2 cab with white(?)wheels and perhaps seeing it in the flesh in ireland next yr!! all the best yours jealously dylan

Just to let you all know that I am now no longer an owner of a Cayman S. Though the Cayman is the best all round car ever produced by Porsche, I have sold it! Am I mad or just plain broke? []

Neither!

After 2 Caymans, I just fancy a change and, more importantly, PDK. Gen 2 for Cayman is a long way off and I don't wish to shell out for a new warranty. Hence my new Porsche is about to arrive, complete with PDK and a 2 year warranty.

What is it? A clue is on the Forum... somewhere. [:)]

Anyway guys.. thanks for the memory. Great car, great chaps.

Sad to see it go Derek, but congratulations on the new car - I am sure you will enjoy it! I did wonder how long it would take before you gave in to the PDK temptation! Have fun and please post your updates and feedback :) All the best, Graeme (like Dylan - with a little jealousy [:D])

Mine was meant to leave the factory on 24th July - arriving in the UK early August, and I had scheduled delivery for tomorrow following return from my holiday yesterday. Unfortunately the car is still at the final quality check stage (the last stage before the car leaves the factory) and so no further action can take place until the factory reopens on 18th Aug - thus meaning I will likely get my car 1st Sept! Great for the new reg but I had convinced myself to get it early and had bought a private plate (C2 PDK) !! As you would expect dealership are being helpful and am am hoping of a loan car in the interim?? I am guessing that the car just didn't make it out in time rather than there being an issue - I did order Ruby Red which can be a slow colour and I also convinced them to allow me some options that officially were not available with early gen2's - carrera sport wheels, painted rear section of centre console and stainless steel side skirts / kick plates. Maybe this had some impact??? I guess Swindon now has 2 meteor Caymans to sell!!

Well I have ordered yellow stitching and yellow seat belts & have not been told any delay because of that. We will see. I have ordered sports exhaust and that will be fitted whenever. Hope I don't get the problems encountered when my last Cayman arrived, complete with box containing only some bits of the exhaust!!
