Cayman GT 4.0 front numberplate plinth

After a few days with the new car, I have started to pick up on the detail you don't notice at collection. One such area is the front numberplate plinth in that unlike my 987 and 981 caymans, it doesn't follow the contour of the bumper and has a gap either side. Anyone else noticed this or has mine been fitted incorrectly?

Mine was a poor fit on delivery too Neil. Disappointing, but your first stonechip will take your mind off it. [;)]

The plinth is supplied with the car so should be the correct one if you bought new. Sounds like it may be a GTS thing on 718s if the fit is poor.

I'd check with your OPC and see if there's an updated part available.

Car was new and is going back to the dealer for them to have a look at it. I have checked others online and its difficult to see any gaps from pictures. I did look at a 718 boxter yesterday and the plinth was perfectly shaped to the bumper as you would expect.

Good point re stone chips being a distraction, hopefully the PPF will delay that for a while though.

Just a thought Neil but maybe a standard 718 plinth has been fitted instead of one designed for the GTS, which presumably has a different front PU? Worth getting the dealer to check.
