Cayman GT4 - Clubsport package removal

Dave,

Just asking, but I’m sure that the standard lap-and-diagonal belts are also fitted so I presume that you just want to remove the harnesses to clean up the look of the interior?

The only comment I’d make is that I’m sure that the majority of the harnesses will have been fitted by the dealers before delivery, so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get hold of the carpet cut-outs, but good luck with your search.

Hi Jeff

Yes, you are correct regarding the diagonal belts and restoring the interior to its standard spec.

I think you'll probably be correct about my chances of finding the carpet blanks, but fingers crossed...

thanks for your reply

Dave

Hello

I have recently sold my 991 and taken delivery of a Cayman GT4 with the clubsport pack fitted.

I couldn't get on with the six point harnesses and have decided to remove them, this has left several areas of carpet missing, where the mounting points were, so I am reaching out to ask if any members have done the opposite to me and installed racing harness seat belts and have the carpet blanks sitting in their garage. If so, would you want to sell them please?

many thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

It doesn’t help you with your quest, but when my harness was installed pre delivery at Reading, they didn’t cut and remove bits of carpet. The carpet is pre cut for the harness, and the cut section can be folded back to expose the attachment points. It doesn’t need to be removed. Where the harness is installed the carpet now covers the bolts etc.

Thanks

Colin

Hi Colin

Thanks, I only wish my supplying dealer had folded the carpet in the same way Reading did for you.

I will also enquire with my local racing specialist (Weissach ) in case they have some.

Cheers

Dave

This is how the Clubsport pack came as standard / ordered (981)

Was yours a retro fit and hence the difference in carpet cut out ?

Hi Andrew

I am the second owner and believe it was fitted from new.

Thanks
