Cayman GT4 vs Cayman Base vs Mustang Mach 1

Really surprising how it demolished that Mustang and amazed how close it stayed to the GT4 well past road legal limits before it got past

The mustang is the real loser here! I mean it's a muscle car and not really well known either for its finesse in the twisties either, to be fair though it did sound nice.

A pretty pointless exercise, having owned both the two cars couldn’t be any further apart.

That said, I’ve always argued that the base 718 is great value for money, but that turbo gets very hot on track.

Yep, who drag races a GT4? The F4Ts are quick, we know that, nothing new there!

Chuck a few corners in and 20 mins of lapping Oulton Park and see how the two cars get on...

Well, not mustangs as it turns out 😂

My 718 was a great car, I know we don’t agree on sound but performance for the price was up there. The GT4 is in a different class though when it comes to feedback, handling and endurance for track abuse. Totally different cars.

I never really got the whole drag racing thing. Stick an RS3 in there and it’s going to beat all of them, it’ll just understeer into the first tree it comes across though.

I agree mate, I've never ignored the fact that the F4Ts are quick and for me the 2.0 was a nicer drive than the 2.5.

Not my cup of tea though, and even if the GT4 was the worse car in all other areas I'd still have it for the engine and gearbox alone. Same with the GTS 4.0 too I suspect as I haven't driven one yet. Speed isnt everything.

I imagine the base 718 wouldn't be too far behind the GT4 at Oulton Park.

I’ll take that bet. A good 8 seconds a lap quicker round OP.

Not that we’re allowed to time laps. We’re good boys.

Always been amazed at any so called Porsche base cars they really are good value for money not to much in the performance on the road.

Had both the big engines and the base engines.

Nice video post. [:D]
