Cayman headlight options

JB 3.2

New member
I'm considering purchasing a Cayman and wondered if HID (Xenon) headlights were fitted as standard on any of the cars or were they always an optional upgrade?

Always option for bi xenons on the 987 and pre 987

981 and 718 have better standard lights but the bi xenons( needing washer headlights ) are still an option

the only standard bi xenons were the 981GTS

Just to clarify things, if ever offered a choice of headlights, always plump for two. [;)]

Personally I've never had a problem with the standard headlights on my previous boxsters and current Cayman. With the extra caution (and lower speeds) needed to drive at night I find they light up the road quite enough.

I had standard headlights on my 986 Boxster S which were not very good the 987.1S I had was fitted with Xenons and I found them much better, I now have the PDLS Xenons on my 987.2S good in the twists and turns but the earlier Xenons I never had any complaints with and kept them set to continental setting.

John, ( and anyone else with duplicate posts ) if you want to place a single entry press Submit just once, I remove duplicates if/when I see them.
