Cayman Hire?

Hi

I've been thinking for a while how great it would be if the club had a fleet of Porsches from 356 to new Gen2 that we as members could pay to hire. Ah, if only that was feasible :)

Anyway, I'm looking to change from my 996 possibly to a new Cayman S Gen2 and it would be great to be able to hire one or at least drive one for a bit longer than a test drive from an OPC. Any ideas?

Cheers, Alex

opc`s are pretty keen for sales these days alex !!! so may be worth asking for an extended drive.??i doubt there are many out there for hire yet

Yes, you're right but I guess it would be nice to just enjoy a long drive with no pressure to buy. I'm also thinking about a 997C2S and had a test drive in one at OPC Cambs a few months ago, so I don't want to get a reputation for a test drive timewaster, particularly because I might still consider buying one privately later instead. At the moment I need to wait for my 996 to sell first. It's in great condition with only 38k on the clock and OPC wanted to offer about £13k for trade in so I'm trying to sell privately, of course it's taking a while. I've just noticed you've gone from 996 to Cayman S, will you stick with Caymans now or back to 911s next time?

when grandchildren arrive definately time for a 911 again!possibly TT,but till then i just love the balance and poise of the cayman.(oh,and linda prefers the luggage space of the cayman[:D])

Hire? ... that's what demo cars are for! My OPC happily lent me their demo car for the day, unaccompanied, prior to my buying the Cayman, and has since lent me several other 911's and Cayman on the same basis, plus several "test drive plus" sessions. Either you are not asking the right questions, or you need to try a different OPC. [:D]
