Hope y'all Cayman fans are watching the three Caymans running in the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona raceway?

#16 - Shane Lewis - Napleton Racing - Porsche Cayman
#22 - Seth Thomas - Bullet Racing - Porsche Cayman GX.R
#38 - Jeff Mosing - BGB Motorsports - Porsche Cayman GX.R

Love the retro colour scheme of the Napleton Racing car......

Terrific.....well done for finding that Mel. And that is a monster rear wing on the Cayman.! Jeff

All three finished - 26th, 30th and 33rd out of 50 finishers - so an excellent result for a 24 hour endurance race. The Napleton Racing car finished behind a gaggle of GT3's (and in front of a few others too!) in the process. Jeff

This is good to see. Hope it grows from here. If there's money to be made, might Porsche offer a new racing class. Would these guys have done anything more than their own set of upgrades listed here? http://www.napletonmotorsports.com/performance-upgrade-cayman.php http://www.caymaninterseries.org/

Lots about racing Caymans here http://www.planet-9.com/forums/ - see the 2nd, 3rd and 4th topics. Been going on for several years. Stock Gen 2 cars seem to manage to keep the oil going through the engine during cornering much better than Gen 1, which is good to see....

Certainly would be good to see a few Caymans mixing it with Boxsters/944s/968s on our circuits. There's nothing to stop interested parties entering current Porsche series is there Chris? Jeff

As I understand it the Cayman has been introduced to the PCGB Club Championship for this season, but I've yet to hear of anyone intending to run one. Its unlikely that we will see them in my series (BRSCC) yet, though - the donor cars are still too expensive. Chris #88.

The GX regulations are very extensive 6 ( http://www.grand-am.com/Portals/0/Images/PDF/2013%20GX-GCR.pdf ). I read on Planet-9 that the Napleton car was running a 3.8 litre 911 motor with an air restrictor but can't confirm this. Plus the mamoth rear wing of course..! Jeff
