Cayman - Leak

Could be coolant from the left radiator. Not sure where you might find condensed water from the aircon system, but that's another possibility.

It looks like either coolant from a leaking radiator or hose, or condensate from the air conditioning. Coolant is a pink-ish colour, so try dabbing it with white paper towel to see if you can see any colour. It has a slightly oily feel to it. Condensate is clear water, and if that is what it is then it's normal in hot weather, especially if humid.

hi, it looks like a small leak of your Air conditioning condensor. Is your air con still ice cold..... Its the only thing above the area of the leak... the only downside would be the failure of your air con to be "cold", which would need to be checked and repaired and regassed at some later stage. Its unlikely to affect your engine or other things.... The failing of condensors is quite common....

Hi there,

I wonder if I could get experienced advice please.

Later today I am due to set off on a 500-mile trip from France back to the UK. I noticed a small pool of liquid under my Cayman, on the passenger's side ahead of front the wheel (see photos). Feeling the liquid, it is not oily, but not absolute water I would say.

The car has not been used much in the last few months - not sure if this is relevant. I did take it out yesterday for 8 miles or so and no dashboard warnings.

In light of finding this, would you advise against making the trip? Could I drive and get this attended to when back in the UK? Unfortunately it would be difficult to rearrange my plans or stop at a garage en-route since it will be late.

Appreciate if any response soon!

Thanks.

These condensers do seem to have a finite life but there are a number of places offering replacements at a fraction of the opc cost.

Good Afternoon All. Charlie was spot on - the air-con has packed up; now ineffective when I turn it on and very much missed on the trip! Other than that, my Cayman performed flawlessly. Thanks again chaps. I will be back to ask about replacement condensor advice in due course.
