The Cayman Meet at Chatsworth Park in Derbyshire is to take place on the 30th June as an additional item to the Region 8 Annual Chatsworth meeting. Discounted tickets can be obtained in advance through Region 8 or pay on the gate on the day.

Please note that there was an error in my entry in PP this month as the Chatsworth Meeting is listed as 9th June and not the correct date of 30th June an error on my part as the dates lined up in the typed entry![:)]

It is listed correctly in all other PP entries and has been stated several times to be as part of the Region 8 meeting and so hopefully everyone will understand that this single error is in fact just that, a simple error.[8|]

Hi Buddy As a Cayman owner I am interested in the Chatsworth meet, are ther are any details available yet. Thanks Trevor

Hi Trevor, Tonight I had a chat with Randolph, organiser of the R8 event and when available sometime around April he will pass the form to me so that on request I can email them to the Cayman Register members wishing to attend. The date is set for 30th June so you can take it that the event will happen. The forms will allow you to prebook at a discount, on the day on presentation of a Porsche Club membership card there is usually a discount on the price to visit the house. It will also be ok to pay on the gate. Entry is for car and passengers. The meeting starts at approx' 10am but for those wishing to enter the concours they can arrive earlier to spend even more time polishing. We will have an area next to the main Porsche parking area and depending how much advance interest there is then we may even have a separate category to the main concours event. Usually we get good weather but any complaints if it doesn't happen, try a higher authority! Chatsworth is a very good location which you may recognise from such films as "The Duchess" and "Wolfman" and it is located in North Derbyshire a few miles from Bakewell.

Hi Kevan, I've already said somewhere else in this vast forum that we'll be at the Chatsworth meeting, but just to make sure you know I'm posting here too. Sorry for the duplication. (Feel like the new boy at big school!). PaulJ

No problem Paul, I sometimes have to duplicate things to try to cover them properly.

I now have the booking form for this event which is booked for the 30th June I can email the form to anyone wishing to pre book and while there is a concours event if I have some indication of the numbers of Caymans attending beforehand then we may be able to raise a separate prize for our own register concours event to be judged at the same time. If everyone wishing to attend will email me I can send out the forms and you can either send them to the organiser ( details on the form ) getting a massive discount of £3 or pay on the day. Whichever, if you respond on this forum or email me I will send email you the form and mark you as prospective attendees, if sending the form in please write Cayman on the top of the form to allow the numbers booked beforehand. Hoping to see you all there.[:D]

Hi Kevan Form in the post. Should be a great day. Alun

Hi, Since the forms came out only about a week ago I know that several have already requested or downloaded and sent them in and the response is good, this will be a good day and always gets a good turn out of Porsches of all types, this time Caymanites will have their own area and there are other things to do for wives and others to do, with a membership card you can get a reduction on entry to the house and gardens, then open to all, there is the stable yard which has their own shop and cafe where you can sit out and have a beer or tea/coffee under the parasols etc. It's also rather nice for a picnic by the cars. [:D]

I'll be getting my ticket off you at the meeting and I know several others who will be doing likewise.

Hi Kevan Just competed my form so please add another Cayman to your list. Travelling up on the Saturday stopping at the Manor House Hotel In Dronfield only £75.00 B & B Anybody else stopping over Trevor

The summer now feels as if it is at last approaching and this event should be good, don't forget that there is Chatsworth house to be visited by those who wish to do the tour of house and gardens, a cut price on entry when you show your PCGB card.[;)]

Weather is forecast to be good this Sunday but don't shoot the messenger if the Met Office have it wrong! Parking is sorted for us to have our own area and I will have a Cayman Register sign up, it looks a bit like a sail if I can find out how to erect it! If you're early it could be lying on the grass. As we have a few Concours entries there will be a Cayman category.[:D] So if Concours contestants can get there before 11am we can get them in position and they can get busy with their final polishing. Organisers will be arriving around 9.30 and I should be there before 10am so please centre the Caymans to our group, you will be directed on arrival. Well, I hope to see plenty of you there, the venue is quite splendid and I'm told we are in the better area again this year close to the side of the house and the stable yard where they have shops and stalls etc. Hoping everone has a good weekend especially if they come to sunny Derbyshire![:D][:D][:D]

Unfortunately, owing to a prior engagement I won't be able to join you all this weekend Kevan but hope it goes well and that the weather is good. Jeff

All Travelling up Saturday and stopping over at the Manor House Hotel in Dronfield anybody else doing the same. Trevor
