Cayman Model Listing

Many of you will remember my enquiry some time ago concerning the ownership numbers of the GT4, you will be pleased to know that due to these enquiries and the efforts of George Woodward at Cornbury House the problems have been corrected.
This has resulted in us now having increased the numbers listed from 434 Caymans in the register in February to a total of 552 Caymans of all types listed by register members as of 30th May, included in these and listed from the profiles etc are:

41 GT4’s,
35 GTS,
33 Cayman R‘s, 9 Cayman 987R’s, yes one and the same thing.
17 Cayman S G2,
3 Cayman 2.9 G2,
41 981 2.7,
32 981 S,
22 Cayman 987,
43 Cayman 987S,
67 Cayman,
209 Cayman S.

If the totals don't add up it's because my eyes are blurred after staring at an excel spreadsheet!

You will see that there appears to be some deficiency in the expected numbers of G2 both 2.9 and 3.4 but this is thought to be due to many being listed as simply Cayman or Cayman S most of which will be either G1 or G2 987's nonetheless the register has apparently grown due to the efforts of tracing the GT4's finding others and so on, from a perusal of the registrations it is apparent that we do have a large number of 987 Gen1 S amongst our ranks which is gratifying when we consider the so called bad reputation of the engine as we all know to call these faults overstated is something of an understatement but we continue to grow as a register and many of the newcomers are joining us with the earlier cars.

Kevan, on looking at my profile I can't see a way to list my car as a Cayman 2.9 G2, the only choice for me is Cayman - am I missing something?

Hi Andrew,

If you go to My Profile at the top of the forum page and then go to My Vehicles click on to Edit and go to the model and there are the arrows at the RH end of that, click on them and there should be a drop down list that you can click onto.

Unfortunately, the amount of items which can be added is not as extensive as it was under the old form filling such as colour, transmission but I have requested such information items to be added.

Hi Kevan,

I have updated my profile and selected Cayman G2 from a choice of Cayman, Cayman 987, and Cayman G2.

Andrew.
