Cayman performance from my Boxster?

Been thinking about a replacement for my Jaguar X-type and, fancying something completely different, our local OPC lent me a Cayman S this week. While it was undoubtedly nice to drive, its not the car for me - much too close in feel to my Boxster S. However, I really enjoyed the power - it puts out about 295bhp. This has got me thinking - is there anything I can do to my Boxster to bring me closer to that sort of power output. I'm thinking air filter/exhaust system and possibly a remap. Has anyone done anything similar?

Easiest option is to sell it and buy a current S.

Richard Knight (an occasional visitor here) has a Roock conversion with a 996 3.6 engine in it but it wasn't plain sailing.

You won't get anywhere near 295BH with bolt-ons.

agree with jcb
--- whilst cayman s may be close to a 987 boxster s it is a long way from a 986 [:D][:D][:D](IMHO)
lots of extra changes apart from the extra bhp

I saw something about a Boxster turbo conversion somewhere, I think in the States - check google.

What about exhaust mods?

Tech9 do an exhaust/cat and ECU upgrade that will give you around 300bhp... costs about £3000 though.

48BHP on an exhaust and chip - I find that very hard to believe.
