Cayman Premiums

What sort of figures are being banded about?

If you wanted one, would you be prepared to pay a premium and if so, how much?

From posts I've been seeing, people are being offered very prompt delivery, I don't think a premium is necessary...

Premiums are not needed. I have just been offered Jan/Feb delivery. This may however change after the launch when people see and drive the car.

Those that are offering build slots on eBay and Pistonheads are being investigated by Porsche GB and will have their orders cancelled.

My money says just like the DB9, Bentley Flying Spur, Ferrari 430, to name a few allegedly "overs!!" cars if you read the papers closely there are examples of all these cars being offered at "List Price" with delivery mileage and even unregistered.. From the many ads out there for Caymen my gut feeling is some speculators will be taking a cold shower just to get out of the cars quickly. Anyone considering paying a premium for a Cayman isn't reading between the lies :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Mark,

I wanted to reply earlier but had trouble with phone lines.

Paying a premium? No way. Anybody that buys a Cayman is already paying a premium direct to Porsche when ordering a car, why pay a second one. After all it is a Boxster coupe (albeit improved, I grant you) far more expensive than the soft top version, a first. It is a very clever marketing calling it a new car, take my hat off, but ...

Anyway I would like to see one in the flesh before I make an opinion, I am not sure yet. The Boxster is a great car, the 2.7 far better than people think, it makes a lot of sense either the Mk.I or ther Mk.II.

Wow! Sounds like some speculators are going to get their fingers burnt here (aren't we sypathetic to that predicament - NOT!).[&:]
My local OPC has 2 in stock, one cobalt blue with grey interior (looks very nice) and an arctic silver one with black interior - both look very nice, and as many have mentioned, they are a lot better in the metal than on paper.
The prices being charged were list - no premiums required, just a cheque book and a desire for handling nirvana!
Someone's going to have a very happy Christmas!!

My local OPC also had two on the showroom that you could have bought there and then. One pretty high spec one slightly more sensible, so if they were in the desired colours and close to required spec, no need to pay a premium.
