Cayman R - side decals

Hi,
any other Cayman R owners out there having issues with the 'Porsche' side decal braking and peeling?
Dealer is having issues getting warranty to support this claim but car has done just 4000 miles, always garaged and cleaned, this is happening just on the drivers side, there are no stone chips or any other (apparent) cause. First noticed last week when cleaning and it seems to be getting worse each day now. Just rubbed over with a soft cloth and more parts came off, seems to have gone brittle.....any thoughts or comments?

How very odd - as the car is so young and the miles low I would expect this to be covered under the warranty - the decals were fitted by Porsche at the point of manufacture so they should take full responsibility of this and treat it as any other 'trim' item. Keep us posted on your progress, if you are successful this then gives other members ammunition in the future if similar problems occur. Good luck. Dan.

Had the peeling issue on the front 1/4 panel on my Spyder. Replaced under warranty while I waited have had no further issues since At the time car had done circa 1900 miles and work was done in June 2011

thanks Daro911, useful info, still waiting for the dealer to confirm it's a warranty job but as more flakes (seems to have gone brittle) are coming off while it's sat in the garage I hope they're going to sort bery soon. I'll keep you posted but any pic's of your 'peeling' would be useful?

Sorry never kept any pictures of the problem and dealer never made any attempt to say it wasn't a warranty issue. They just ordered a stripe and replaced the front 1/4 panel section while I waited]

As it should be handled on a car so new and so young!! Daro911, you need to remind them of this fact. Crazy behaviour from Porsche IMHO.
