Cayman R wheels, inner colour code

Does anyone know the colour code for the grey inner side of the black type Spyder/Cayman R wheels?

TIA
Andy

I was told that the colour of silver used by Porsche on their wheels is Diamond Silver as appropriate for the year, I've generally found that the VW Diamond Silver is a pretty good match for dabbing in with the little brush

I could not find a source for this colour, but I did find a stone grey in a local hardware shop which was close enough. I had coin sized patches of bubbling on the inside faces but decided to repainted the whole inner wheel. The outer face is fine.

Hi Kevan

Just to clarify, Andy and John are referring to the inner area of the rim, as shown being cleaned here, not the outer face. It's a solid grey colour.

Yes thats exactly the same as mine. A coin sized blister on just one wheel. Thanks all I'll try both

Andy,

Just a suggestion but if you plan to DIY, why not take a wheel in to your local Helfrauds store and see if you can get a reasonable match? They always have a large selection of car spray paints available.

You could try this outfit but they're in Bedford and so not local for you:

And this company in MK offers a colour matching service but I see that you need to order a minimum of 10 cans:

I do a bit of work in the motor trade and one of the body shops has told me a local factor has a scope to learn or ID the colour, so I'm going to take a wheel there. I will keep you all informed :)

Sounds like a plan Andy.

Along the same lines, you could always try using a local smart repairer since they can mix up a small quantity of paint to match.

Andy. Just checked and it was Rustolem winter grey that I used, in aerosol format. I also used a zinc primer and a primer surfacer. I think it has come out well, but I was not trying to get an exact match as I did the whole inner wheel, masking off where the grey joins the black. But if you only have a small area it is probably worth getting a professional match.

Good luck. J.
