Just bought my first Cayaman 2006 model registered in November 2006 but the Owners club Authenticity Certificate says its a 2007 model probably due to the vin number as its got a number 7 in it. Could it be a 2007 model registered in 2006 ?
Any ideas please.

Cheers Shaun West.

I think the first build of each model year starts post annual shut down in the previous year so that a 2007 model year vehicle would first be built from September 2006. If you have access to an ECU tester such as a Durametric or even pop into your local OPC, you can see when the vehicle was "born" by looking at the engine module software date, however I would have thought that the sentence above explains the situation.

It happens with all manufacturers... 2007 will be the model year. As stated above, built months before 2007.

Usual reason given for this is that the auto shows start in October and everyone wants the new model they just saw at the show...[;)]
