Cayman S faults

Just had our Cayman S recovered to the dealership as there was a terrible shrieking sound coming from the engine once up to temp. It sounds a bit like a slipping belt but continues for a second or two after the engine stops. The car also stalled a few times and was a little reluctant to restart.
The slightly more worrying problem was a large puff of blue smoke on startup even though it had only sat overnight, plus a smaller puff each subsequent startup. [] I know the flat 6 design can allow oil to pool in the barrels when left for long periods, but not for such a short time surely?
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Hi again, picked the car up yesterday from Porsche Swindon. The faults were caused by a collapsed oil separator/breather assembly which in turn allowed oil into the air meter. That explains all the symptoms as the mixture would have been all over the place plus the smoke caused by oil getting into the mixture. I have to say it was a bit of a relief as I was thinking far more serious engine problems!! Just a thought for those that haven't renewed their warranties, the bill for the above work (not including recovery) was around £530 at warranty rate and would have been around 30% higher at retail rate!

had the oil separator go on my C2 not long after I got it, was something like a scene from a James Bond movie, clouds of smoke and I feared the worst. Fixed under warranty though and one of the more common failures I'm led to believe.
