Anyone else attending this? It was odd though, as Chiswick is the one who had phoned me to send the invite... Assuming now Chiswick, Reading, Park Lane, Hatfield, Guildford are all under Porsche UK this will be a common occurance...

It is by invite only; there is no harm in ringing them up and asking to put your name down...
I have never been to one, so I have no idea what the restrictions will be at the door...

It is at 7pm for 7:30pm start.

Aiming for 7pm, see you there...

Golden rule ... leave the cheque book and credit cards at home [:D]

Aye, aye, captain... and one of these days we'll have to add, "...and don't reveal your email address is paypal enabled". [;)]

We're going as well, probably closer to 8pm than 7pm.

Balding, grey-haired, bearded with glasses in a suit. Say hello if you're feeling friendly!

...goes by the name of Roy and is having a birthday in a week's time. Noted. It is always good to meet other PCGB members as that is the other half of the beauty of owning a Porsche...

Today I will be wearing green wellies, a rustic brown jumper.........................................

Ok, Ok a yellow jacket & cap

Right our challenge is to find each other have a photo next to the Cayman S i.e. Chris, Pete, Robert, Roy and myself (Kish) and post it on the forum, anyone else game? I'll bring the cam...

Great idea I'm sure Perry Rob (md) wouldn't mind snapping us. I'm easy to spot just look for a handsome chap in a wheelchair, having said that there will probably be 10 other bods wheeling around too! []

Sorry didn't manage to find any of you expect Robert, so no cigar or bonus for us...[:(]

Well, here is a Basalt Black Cayman S without us:

Ditto, total failure. Stood around from time to time, but the lack of name tags and crowds of people made it very difficult. Next time (?) we'll need more coordination!

Had a great time, though!

Sorry to have missed you folks, Pete & I found Daro911 and I was wearing a very bright yellow jacket and cap, next time.

So what do you think of the Cayman?
IMO On paper it sounds like a great car, mid engine, etc etc, looks aren't to bad (mix of Box & 911), but it seems to lack it's own personality, as an example you can tell the difference and purpose of say a 360 vs.Enzo vs.575 etc.....maybe it's just early days, I need to get behind the wheel!

Yeh a bit crowded, that didn't help but spoke to Robin Walker, Geoff Turral and Stephen Mummery briefly. Cayman looks good but to much like the other models, designing in this lazy way just continues to dilute the 997, the whole range is looking 'in-bred' now and we know where that leads.
One rather tragic moment of mirth was when the DVD Cayman presentation was given, why didn't someone check the screen size? There were many people openly laughing at the bizarre shapes the Cayman took on as it transformed from sleek to comedy car before everyone's eyes. Good canopes and a great 'do' apart from the presentation.
