CD Changer-no cd message

Considering that autofill supplied most of the post's title it is clear that I have posted this before but can't find the original post probably becasue it is more than a year old. Anyway after having the changer out and checking the fibre optics and having it read 3/6 cd for a few days before reverting, try 148 resets and working the mechanism in the changer by "tricking" the linkage, for the first time in two and a half years it now reads all 6 discs. Being at a loose end and pouring with sweat just standing on the patio breatahing, I decided to have another go at fixing it. It struck me that the little par of tweezers simply were not extrating the cd from the cartridge, so it was out with the jewellers screwdrivers, and sitting in the coll and shade of the dining room i took the top of the magazine and examined how the disc fitted in. Either side of the cd when it is in the magazine is a small spring which the "tweezers" have to pull the disc past to load the disc. I used a pair of pin nosed pliers to just ease the springs of slightly. Just take enough to let the disc load, there needs to be enough left to retain the disc so that it doesn't roll out and jam the mechanism. Any way ten minutes well spent I can now select any of the six cds and I hope this will be an end of the niggle.
