CD player....soooo annoying....

Hi,

CD's have been skipping the odd word here and there and spoiling my top down summer music experience!

I've run multiple lens cleaning sessions but still no good. Car's only 5 years old so have to say I'm a little hacked off at the thought of maybe having to have new kit installed - I've got the PCM option.

Anyone had similar and is this going to be expensive to fix?

Cheers,
Mike.

sounds more like a software problem than a hardware one. CD players cache or buffer about 10 seconds of sound all the time so that you never hear the skips that occur all the time when you go over bumps etc.

I would look at the mounting to make sure the player isn't touching anything it shouldn't and picking up vibration also clean and polish your disks & check to make sure there is no scratches or damage to your disks if they spend a lot of the time being played in your car

you're welcome Mike but I'm not that sure my post was particularly helpful really. If it isn't your disks at fault then it probably means you need to fork out for a replacement CD player
