Help required, Last night my radio seemed to devlope a fault, it would work on radio and cd but none of the buttons would work. ie couldnt change the volume or radio channel or even turn it on or off it just came on with the ignition.
Now today I pushed the RIGHT hand rotary control, The radio made a series of beeping sounds then went off completely ????????.
Checked the fuse and its fine just nothing from the radio at all.
I seem to remember some time ago the buttons stopped working for a short time but came back without any input from me.

Anyone know whats going on ?

You might find that the front detachable panel is not correctly seated. Remove and re-instal Good luck!!

Plimmer,

Your a star [;)] Spot on, It was fixed in correctly but after a bit of playing around and pushing in all 4 corners it worked.

Many Thanks

Bryan,
Yes, this is sometimes a problem as dust particles get into the contacts in the removable front panel. Giving them all a clean with some mentholated spirit on a stiff artist's brush usually does the trick. In this occasion what you did was ok but you should have a check and give them a good clean to prevent it happening again in the near future.

Good idea Iain, I will do that to save red face when wife ( who isnt a fan of the car) gets in car and says "I told you so "
