CDR 23 Fault

I am in the early days of Boxster ownership - and really enjoying the experience, however I have an issue with the CD playback (was fine when I bought the car). Radio works well, although seems to be affected by proximaty of mobile phone - but when attempting to listen to CD's I just get message CDS STOP. I have the Bose upgrade but no multichanger - any ideas?

Thanks
Jon

No - have tried a selection of bought CD's - some of which worked fine before, didn't know whether I have done something to the configuration when playing with menu settings.

Thks

I had a 2003 986 Boxster with CDR23 which used to do this randomly. The whole unit was eventually replaced under warranty. The replacement did it too, but less frequently. It was a common fault, much discussed at the time. Some people had a sequence of button pushing (can't remember what they were) which supposedly reset the software, but that didn't make much difference either. I gave up listening to CDs and just listened to the engine instead - much more enjoyable!

Oh thanks Brian. At least it isnt something I've done then., and I could try a warranty claim from the dealer. Know what you mean about the engine sound tho [:D]
