CDR22 and 7860 cd changer

I have recently purchased the 7860 cd changer for my 1999 911 as the
previous owner had removed the changer when selling.
I have plugged the unit in and you can hear the motor start but the stereo
is not recognising the cd unit is there??
Do i need some software or something to add to the cdr22 stereo??

I assume you connected the two with a cable like this?

Blue and green in the back of the CDR22 and the red/white/black connectors to the 7860?
Have you cycled through the S button to see if the CDC is recognised? (You should get FM/CD/CDC in that order, do it a couple of times. If you do get CDC but no sound then check the discs are the correct way round -- check the Cd carosel.
You shouldn't need new software to get them to run together but the 7860s do have the reputation of being a bit flakey.
Good luck.

Thanks Paul,

Not sure how !- but the unit has now recognised the stereo and is working.

I may have had a loose connection, thanks for the advice.

James
