Has anyone experienced problems with the CDR22 CD player + Bose Sound systems (2003 C4s) my unit keeps shutting down with no functions available or sound. Porsche dealer says its a software problem with the optic link ! -- 'resets' it and this works for approx 2 weeks it is a real pain as the dealer is a 90 mile round trip. The Head Unit has been replaced but this has not cured the problem, Is there a known problem with these units? any feed back would be appreciated

I have exactly the same problem and my PCM2 unit also clicks when you start the car most of the time as if it can't find the sat nav CD.
The dealer (AFN Guildford) has said (and I quote)
"what do you expect when you order complicated ICE in your sports car"
WELL DON'T OFFER IT THEN I REPLIED! (you tw@t I thought - it was the old guy who works in service by the way)
I have also been told it's because the system uses optical links rather than conventional wires and there is a known problem with it...
The bottom line is tough sh#t.
Thank you Porsche.

That really is a poor response from the dealer...can't imagine it's beyond the wit of man to resolve the problem - though obviously beyond the scope of your Porsche dealer.
Try another dealer - or try Sempal (UK distributor of Becker audio - cdr 22) They seem pretty clued up on Porsche systems and gave a lot of useful advice in fitting a Becker satnav unit to my car.
