Jeremy hi.
The celebration car was built to mark 25 years of the 911 and the 250,000 car built.
50 came to the UK - 30 Coupe 10 Targa and 10 Cabriolet.
Good luck with the car, do you have any pictures you can post?

how do you tell if its a celebration model? a couple of years ago when taking my girlfriends 3.2 carrera cabrio sport for mot, the details on the computer were that her car was a celebration model, however i have found no details or paperwork to back this up. Is there any special trim or extras that set this model apart from the standard carrera? and is there a definitive list of chassis numbers for the limited edition models? thanks

I don't know about chassis nos. but my Celebration is Diamond Blue (special colour) with blue leather with Ferdinand Porsche signature woven into headrests. Hope this helps.

are you sure yours is not an "anniversary" model as opposed to a celebration. i seem to remember while researching hers i came across all blue limited edition anniversey models. hers is a red carrera sport cabrio with white leather and seems to have a lot of options on it, but nothing to make it out as a limited model.
