center armrest.

Has anyone knowledge of removing the lock and clasp from the center arm rest ?. Mine now fails to lock closed and if you don't get it in the right position the car won't lock remotely.
I think it just needs adjusting as when I close it you can still lift the lid without pushing the button.

Many Thanks

When you say the car won't lock remotely, does the car lock but give the short hoot warning or it doesn't lock at all?

I have to always push the lid close after locking it as once closed with the key it opens up and then I have to push it down to fully lock it, otherwise I would get the short horn warning upon activing the alarm. I thought this is a feature, is mine faulty too?

Yes the car will lock but I sometimes get the horn sound stating the alarm has not activated correctly.
The armrest lid just wont clasp into position !!!.

The lock for the storage between the seats has a microswitch connected to it and also connected to the alarm. If the switch thinks the armrest is not closed all the way and latched then you get a single beep when you set the alarm.

The lock and switch are attached to the bottom of the center console with torx screws. Remove the center console and see what is going on. As you remove the center console keep in mind that there is a connector to the switch that you need to remove before you lift the console out of the car.
