CENTRAL LONDON MEET - Thurs 6th July

Like many of you, I love my food and drink. Man (and woman[;)]) has to eat and drink... and all of us should argue - drive a Porsche... so why not make it enjoyable?

Ok here is an idea for a monthly event that I'd like to stir up for all London members. A MONTHLY GERMAN BEER AND FOOD NIGHT!

London probably has the highest density and varied number of pubs/eateries/restaurants anywhere in the country, and it would be a great idea if we could combine good food, drink, and company with our love of everything Porsche.

Every month we could convene at a different Bavarian beerhouse/restaurant to sample any of the various German mainstream beers or myriad of specialty microbrews. Combined with some good rye bread, sauerkraut, bratwurst, Apfelwein (or whatever else is on the menu), what better way of enjoying each others company and talk things Porsche?!

To whet your thirst and appetite, a few good venues are listed here: http://www.germanbeerguide.co.uk/london.html

Although it would be nice to have our cars as company, it is often not practical to find parking in London and there is also the issue of security. Instead of hassling with driving/parking etc, I suggest we leave the cars at home and people can take either the Tube, bus, train, taxi, etc...

So what do you think? This is just an idea at present and if enough people here are willing to give some support to the event, we could make this a regular fixture and good excuse to get out on the town. Call it the London chapter of PCGB's F&B Appreciation society.... [;)]
