what's the blank on the left for? the convertible?

also will a mirror/wiper/etc switch go in the blank?

Left blank is for disabling the ultrasonics in the alarm - very rare - the convertible uses the sunroof switch, pretty sure the switch locations are all the same so any should fit the blank,

Is it rare? I'm not sure it is. Mine has it (and mine is about as boggo-basic as you can get) and I'm sure I have seen quite a number of other cars with it too.

relatively rare, neither of mine have it but I am not sure the cab ever had ultrasonics. maybe we need a poll ;)

Hmmm. I knew a girl at school called Poll. Proper name was Polly, but she did have the most superb legs and ... ahem better stop there before the mods get shirty, eh?

So, yes, if there are any spare Polls around then let me know. I'd love to meet her again!

I was a Poll - racing a yacht, crew = 5, Mike =5 so nicknames required!
Mike
Edit - dont think you'd like my legs!

There's got to be an S2 pun here.....[:)]

There seems to be a lot of variation in the layout of the switches but all seem to have a blank which inevitably gets used for aftermarket stuff - alarm leds etc.
I saw a pic on Rennlist where most of the switches seemed to be missing and blanked. Looked factory, maybe the US spec was even more boggo than Oli's!

You can move the switches about into any position you like by lifting up the panel. A lot of people move the rear wiper switch to be the first from the right so they don't keep opening the sunroof by mistake
