Hi folks.
As some of you may know, I had a trip to CG this week to have my non-PASM C2 setup by Chris.
Prior to visiting, the only thing I knew about the car was that I thought the steering was a bit dull and lifeless, and the wheel had a tendency to bounce around a lot whilst hurtling down my local B-roads. Within a few minutes of driving my car, Chris confirmed much the same thoughts, suspension a bit floaty at times and a few other minor niggles, but thankfully no wear anywhere on the suspension.
I opted for Chris's pre-determined 'performance' setup which required quite a lot of change to the front wheels - reducing the toe, adjusting the tracking, and reducing toe on the rear wheels. It had been setup before by someone at some point as it wasn't the standard factory setup, but I can only imagine the previous owner had big fat fingers and no perception of what driving a car was all about, because it wasn't very good.
Suffice to say, by the time Chris had finished and we'd done the second test drive (at 6.30pm, having arrived at 1.30pm!), the car was basically transformed. Chris says he can't do really any more or less with PASM or non-PASM cars in terms of adjustment, so I was pleased to hear this - it sounds like he might actually prefer non-PASM cars but don't quote me on that. Anyway, the steering is now lighter, gives more feel at the front when turning in, doesn't dance through my fingers on the same old B-road I usually hack down, and the rear feels much less floaty.
So, all in all for £300 the handling has been basically transformed, and I cannot recommend CG high enough if you are even slightly unhappy with the way your car handles. Some pics below. The keen eyed amongst you will note that I've got different wheels front and back - this is because Chris @ Exel Wheels hadn't brought my own wheels back with their new tyres, but as long as they're Porsche alloys it doesn't make a difference to the setup.
