Centre wheel caps

I returned to my car today to find that some **** had stolen one of my centre caps and tried to remove the other one and done some minor damage to the alloy. I had no idea these things were of value to people. After my initial rage, I am trying to find out if it is worth getting another set from my local PC or off ebay, although I guess most of these are stolen anyway. They seem to vary in price from about a tenner to £50 for one, I am very confused. I will probably stick with the plain ones and not the coloured ones, so they don't stand out too much.

This sort of thing infuriates me, and I think the scum that do this should be treated as they do in the arabian countries if they are ever caught. These mindless thieve have a level of callousness that exceeds even lucifer himself. I had a 50 minute wait for a train the other day, due to the theft of signal wire from the railway. Signal wire for christ sake!

sorry to hear this, I bought a set from eBay, not original but I can't tell the difference. they were about £12 or so and of extremely good quality,
cheers

The Porsche ones will last longer (if no to$$er nicks them) as the ebay versions look great to start with but then fade quite quickly in the sun. At £12 a set mind, you can replace them every 6 months and still be quids in!

Thanks guys for the sympathy, I could actually feel my blood boil when I found it and if I would have caught the little person, I dont know what I would have done. so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway, they are £31 each from my PC, just going to check ebay and compare now. Thanks all...

regarding fading, I've had mine since May, and they look as good as new , no fading or cracking whatsoever .
cheers

they appear to be about £15 for a set on ebay, so might go down that route for now, then at least I have some spare for future. Did you use an approved supplier off ebay or just anyone on there? thanks

Chris from Exel normally does a great deal on centre caps.
I need a set soon ( some scumbag nicked them ) so will give Chris a bell.

I blame the Beastie Boys for the allegedly moronic idea of wearing the big VW from a camper van on a chain. News flash spate of car badge nicking, stealing the porsche centre caps is just a progression. Get some Skoda ones turned dwon to fit or what ever, and tell everyone you are being ironic.

As I said, the ebay ones are good value but will not last as long as the Porsche ones but at 1/10th of the price just change them every year!

I got them from a shop on eBay called "portiascarparts", but I don't know if they still have them. Highly recommended.
cheers

I have a set of genuine original and unused centre caps as per the image attached.

They came off my 2000 996 C2 - never used as we had the coloured ones fitted prior to delivery.

Let me know on here if you are interested and I will email you back (as Admin I have access to your email address)
