ceramic brakes - soft pedal

My 997s has PCCB and I'm concerned about excessive travel in the brake pedal. This makes heel and toe quite difficult. Had a steel-brake courtesy car recently and the pedal was much firmer.

I've had the car 3 months now (from new) and I've not been happy with the feel of the pedal. Took it back to OPC and they said it was OK.

Drove a 360CS a while back and the ceramic brakes on that were fantastic so I'm concerned there's something wrong with my brakes.

I've not seen any other threads discussing soft pedal with PCCB so is it just me??

thanks

Nigel

I've got pccbs on a 997GT3 and there is no noticeable softness or travel. However, these may differ from those on the 997 and S.

Worth getting checked though, because they are an expensive option and you should be enjoying them to the full. Perhaps your OPC could let you drive another pccb equipped 997 for comparison. Or, have you done Millbrook yet?

thanks Oliver

I did Millbrook in a PCCB car and I don't remember the brakes feeling soft. In fact it was after doing that day that I specified the brakes so they must have felt good!

I'm going to go back to the dealer again - last time they didn't have another PCCB car for me to try.

Nigel,
Have a look at http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=250786. Not specifically on ceramic, but it may be of interest.
