Sales of all Porsches slowed down a lot then, 911s an 928s too as I recall. The cars had become very expensive and the Japanese competition was hotting up signifcantly, plus there was a massive recession across most of the Western world. It nearly took down the company.

I've just received a Certificate of Authenticity, free from Porsche - see here:

well worth getting, for those of you who are club members.

It said that my car was manufactured in September 1990, but was not sold/first registered until July 1992. It is also a 1991 model year, which I did not know.

Was the 944 out of favour in the early '90's, as mine has obviously sat round for a long time before being sold?

That looks very interesting and since I was going to join club when i get back I reckon this be nice to have, The link to download the form is dead, does anybody have a copy they could host somewhere or even pm or email it to me, it would be very much appreciated, cheers

You will need to join the PCGB first since PC Reading will check you have a valid PCGB membership/address etc, So its join the club - then submit a COA[;)]

So you get a bit of paper from PCGB to say your Porsche is a Porsche?? Sorry I dont understand, why? I've seen a few posts about this and a lot of the 'COA' seem to give wrong information [:-]

It's just a nice little extra from Porsche GB to add to the car's documentation, listing dates, options etc. Can't do any harm, and as a freebie it's very nice indeed. Would I pay the full price, probably not. But then I don't file every receipt in a special wallet either, I'm more "stuff everything in a carrier bag" person when it comes to the car's history. [&:] If there are mistakes, and I've only heard of a few out of hundreds, then they are happy to correct it. For free, again. [:)]

Got the form the other day and will fill it in. Not essential but as Paul says a nice little extra freebie [:)]
