Hi everyone,

There is a change of Monthly Meeting venue for Tuesday, 2nd August and Tuesday, 6th September.

The new Venue is: The Young Pretender
Hempstead Road
Kings Langley
Herts
WD4 8BR

Tel: 01923 263150

Chiltern Region is being run by a Committee now since the retirement of Martin.

We see this venue as a trial to see how we like it. They do food there, so anyone who would like to eat there can. We are still looking for a suitable venue which has good food, good parking and a separate room where we can have Regional activities. If this isn't any good then we'll keep searching until we strike lucky, please bear with us.

Hope to see you next month.

Bye for now.

Jo and Robin

Hi everyone,

First Club Night at The Young Pretender in Kings Langley last night. We had a good turnout, around 36 I think. Everyone seemed to think the change was good.
We had our own area curtained off but we spent the evening outside in the cool night air where Robin did his 'News at Nine'.

The plan is to have our September Meeting at The Young Pretender and then see what you think.

Food was available which is good for members who come straight from work.

We are at Croxley Green this afternoon/evening, look on Page 80 in Porsche Post under Diary Dates, Classics on the Green, Croxley for directions.

Bye for now.

Jo and Robin

Sorry, the Region 21 Club night meeting in November will be on Tuesday 1st November at the Rose and Crown in Hawridge more about that later.
The September meeting is today 6th September 2011 from 7pm at The Young Pretender Kings Langley WD4 8BR, you will find us in the room at the rear of the bar and dining area. Food is available. This will be our last night at this venue.

Everyone might like to view the Clubs NEW Website and look at R21 Chiltern Region for details about the new Club Night venue at the Rose & Crown, Hawridge where on Tuesday night 4th October we have Ollie and Darren from RPM Technik giving a presentation about what they can do to your Porsche. The evening is hosted by new Board member Ken Coad. Good food is available all night at a reasonable price. See you there from 7pm park in the large floodlit Southern car park.

Sorry to hear that Syderman. Several people had problems with sat navs sending them down very narrow country lanes. The Rose and Crown is marked on Google maps so have a look and see if you can plan a better route for next month. My route, from the Hemel direction, is via A41, A416 and then turning right onto Vale Rd and following that for about 3 miles, the pub is on the right hand side of the road.

You missed a good evening, the guys from RPM were good to listen to and answered lots of questions. It was good to see the car park with plenty of Porsches in it.

Nice venue, and quite near to me as well. [:)]

The road up from the Chesham end is plenty wide-enough, and the council kindly resurfaced it for us. You can easily get there this way from the A41, although the sat-nav does try to take you round the shorter, more narrow route.

Venue was ok, with the exception that if you were in the area farthest away from the bar (next to the banner), it was very difficult to hear at times due to noise from the dining area next to us, where regular customers were dining.
As a regular at RPM (there again next week), it was interesting to hear of their future plans.
Paul.

In that case I will change my angle of attack for the November meeting and come in via Dagnall, Ringhsall, Northchurch, Berkhamsted and Ashley Green (by coincidence I actually know a bloke called Ashley Green). Sorry to have missed the RPM guys as I have used them - and rented their Boxster from them. Hope all is going will with their move to bigger premises.

I have tried several ways to get to the Rose & Crown from the North. The way I chose last night was to come from the Tring/A41 junction through Wiggington then turn right sign posted Cholesbury, just after passing the entrance to Champneys Health farm, then turn left at the T junction to Hawridge and to the Rose & Crown. You could use this way from the South, which gives a nice run up the A41.

Regarding the meeting I was pleased to see so many members attending, I enjoyed the food and the presentation from RPM but agree that it was difficult to hear everything that was said. New PCGB Board member, Ken Coad, who was our organiser for the night, has already arranged for a microphone and loudspeakers for the next Club night meeting. Thanks Ken and to all that were there.
