Hello everybody, just a quick post to notify you all about a change of meeting place from 4th Nov. Too late for inclusion in the next issue of PP, but will appear in the dec issue.
The Crown in Playhatch has, for Region 19, become a victim of its own success. It is always very busy there now and booking a table has become essential, which is all very well when you have clearly defined numbers, but with something as on spec as regional meeting attendance, guessing numbers is impossible. With the best interests of the members in mind we took the popular decision to move our monthly meeting to The Novello. In my estimation it has as big a carpark as The Crown, but it has a tarmac surface. The major difference is that it is not so heavily subscribed so were were abe to find plenty of room to sit even after decamping there from the Crown as late as 1:15 p.m., and the carvery roast dinner was as good as you would find anywhere in the area in my opinion, and at £9.95 cheaper than sausage and mash at The Crown!(Ian S no laughing). The biggest benefit is its floor area, which again in my opinion, is more generous than The Crown. It has a raised area that the proprietor will reserve for us on the fist Sunday of the month, so I hope to see all the regulars, and maybe one or two more besides, at next months meeting.
As a closing though I would like to thank all the staff at The Crown for their professional service over the months we have been meeting there, and I'm sure we all wish The Crown continued success.
