Just for those that didn't know this like me,
which would have been nice to know when we were driving abroad at the end of last year[]

You can change the digital miles per hour to kilometers by turning and holding the knob used to adjust the clock to the left. This will also change the digital odometer and trip odometer.

Your salesman should have told you when you picked the car up [&:], but it is in the handbook...

I keep a sticker on the sun visor with information about how to change from mph to km/h and vice versa, zeroing the odometer, etc.

slightly trickier question perhaps is that I have a South Africa spec car and the onboard computer calcs all in metric, e.g. litres per 100kms. Any ideas if it is possible to change the settings to Imperial? Speedo etc are fine and swapped to mph, just the obc. All thoughts appreciated.
All the best

The clusters are region-specific, so you can't change the OBC units, I'm afraid. Best bet might be to look around for a second hand UK cluster, but you need to make sure it's the same type (pre or post 2002) and manual/tip, colour, etc. The mileage is stored in the cluster, so you would have to get that "corrected" afterwards.
