Changes to current 997?

I'm seriously thinking about buying a 911 S (I currently drive an M3) but believe there are minor changes just around the corner. My nearest Porsche dealer in Bristol seems unable to give me any precise information and I'm reluctant to place an order if changes are due in the next few months. Any advise would be welcomed.

I believe Porsche updates and price hikes are generally introduced in August so any MY08 changes should be included on cars built from August 2007. I ordered my MY07 C2S in June 06, for delivery in September 06, and the OPC was able to advise me at that time what changes there were from MY06. The changes from MY06 to MY07 were very minor but I'd have expected the OPC to have some information on MY08 by now.

Hi all.

I ordered my first Porsche back in April this year. Today I got a build date of 29/8 and a delivery to me of about 20th September. ( 911 C2S by the way).

My dealer told me without prompting that it will be a 2008 MY and will have new LED sidelights and other bits. Meant nothing to me at the time but having read of the possibility of DI engines and rear end update, I now wonder?

Any further info?

Talking to the Porsche Marketing man at Reading on Saturday no DI yet, he would be drawn no further

However as I only got my car in March I had shared with my OPC that if there was a major upgrade I would wait until August, they said there wan't - the undrestanding being I removed precious parts of their anatomy if they were wrong...........

See the other trheads on the pseculation on MY 09.

Basically Porsche do evolution not revolution so tend to only incrementally increase their cars - or they would risk loosing the most loyal repeat buyer group in the industry. The net upshot is next years is always better but the jump is far smaller than say on a BMW so not worth the wait for another year.
