Changing 986 manual transmission oil

I'm just sorting out what I need to do for my annual service for my April 1999 65k miles 2.5 Boxster - owned by me from new.

Although low mileage, I have a major service every 4 years, and change brake fluid every 2 years, and fresh Mobil 1 oil every year.

I note that the transmission oil should be changed every 96k miles - which I am not yet near, however I see that the 987 series quote a change every 120k miles or 12 years. As mine is 13 years old, is a change advisable, or just leave well alone. (Gear changes are fine)

Thanks.

[8D]Hi Richard,
It is definitely worth changing,I bought
my car last Aug,it's an 02 S version.
When I changed the transmission it was
quite dirty and this was only after 39k.
It was not an easy job, because you have to
remove the torsion bars to drain it off.
I got a print off from rennlist and pelican parts forums.
The Porsche opc print off was useless.
I used the Mobil transmission oil, they do recommend
Swepco as the best but hard to find!
Your gear changes are a lot better and it does
Transform the car.
I change mine every year or about 3000-5000
miles.
Cheers
