Changing Door Entry Guards

Hi All--I am looking to change the door entry guards on my MY06 C2 Coupe. I am fed up with the cheap and nasty looking originals--black plastic with a silvery inset. I wouild love to have an all stainless steel finish, or maybe even the illuminated type. Would my car have the wiring loom to include the illum's or not. If it does, it is an easy job to locate the connections and fit.
I'm not so worried about the lit type so any info on whats around would be gladly received. [:)]

Nick, I doubt the wiring would be there for illuminated sills - I think this is a factory fit option.

Thanks tscaptain. I had thought that the illum's might not be possible!! The Porscheshop offering looks good--do you think the quality will be OK--I'm quite happy to spend if there is more choice. Have Porsche ever offered an all S/S door guard on a 997 model that would fit my car?

I'm sure your local PC will be happy to part you with your money! Looking at the Tequipment book it looks like illiuminated should be possible as a retrofit?

Porsche do sell an aftermaket kit for the illuminated sills ... as the OP has a 997.1 C2 the part number is 997 044 800 51
the kit comes with a wiring loom. However ... (sitting down required) ...... 561 pounds !!!!

The non illuminated stainless ones 997 044 800 43 are (still sitting down) 258 pounds!!!

Thanks guys--there's never a happy medium is there--from £40 odd pounds aftermarket to £258 original Porsche!!! I was warned!!

Just to let you know, I've found some excellent Door sill guards at Type 911 at Beckenham, Kent. They are the brushed finish, which I wanted, and they look very very like the Porsche OE door sill guards. The price---£74 inc VAT--a lot less than the £258 from our OE friends. Thanks everyone who helped.
