Really sorry to hear that Chris.

I am so anal I won't go anywhere where I don't already know where I am going to park. What with vandals, cretins that can't park next to you without scratching your paint, and pure evil traffic wardens. Frankly it's a wonder that I ever stop at all and don't just drive round in a big circle back home!

soory to hear that... I think clamping should be outlawed. What if you needed to get to hospital? Parking ticket is fair enough (though, not at those hourly rates) but clamping... damage to paint tyres wheels etc.. you should put in a counter claim if you have any scuffs.
You really should be able to bray these gits over the head with a... wheelclamp.
Oops. carried away. a tad.

Usual madness - kids with guns or knives get away scott free literally with murder. Dare to park your car, the source of all evil in the univrese mind, and of cousre you will be clamped fines or jailed

Last time I parked in a public carpark I got a free dent with a bot of soem one lse's paint. there weren't ma cars and lots of spaces but white van man still parked next to me and sung his door into the side of my car.

Here's an idea get your armed kids to deal with them, then there'll be no come back....... hm........

I know how you feel. We have our own car park where i work. If i take the Porsche in i park over the back where the car park is empty. Took it in for the first time and got a sticker slapped on the screen which took me ages to peel off!!!! Was not happy and complained to security. There is normally about 200 spares spaces at the back of our car park and i parked between 2. What difference does it make!! Think they did it on purpose as its a nice car and they want to annoy you.!! Cant they understand that when you have a nice car you dont want some idiot parking close and using your car as a leaning point to get out theirs!!

Unfortunately the word or marque PORSCHE has some connotation that seems to bring out the worst in some individuals, they have to pass you on the road, they have to damage your car, or for some unknown reason they just have to hate you...!!!

I know how you feel about car parks, I have a couple of favourite places to park where no other car can park next to you. Also the amount of times that I've had to use my hand as a buffer between the G/friends car door and a car parked next to it, the kids just don't care about anything. My hand has had some decent bruises.[]

It's an interesting observation that new cars seem to be getting wider (due to improved side impact protection) to the extent that many family cars are now 1.8 metres or so wide. My wifes new Feelander is over 200 mm wider than the older model at 2.05 metres. On the other hand, car park spaces are getting narrower as town planners think we all drive Micras or Pandas. I really don't know what the answer is, other than driving an old banger and leaving the Porsche at home.

Harriet,
I too find that the word Porsche brings out the worst in some people. I drive quite slowly in the Peugeot or the management's BMW but when I get in the Porsche I become a complete rockape.
Awful isn't it?

Sadly in just over 6 weeks of ownership I've found this to be the case. Parking in Cheltenham is never great but there seems to be an element of people lately who go out of their way to open their car door onto yours and if you dare to say anything either retort with a mouthful of abuse or say things like 'stop moaning, you can afford it'. yep am thinking of going the South African flame throwers way!! Now wouldn't that be satisfying. Some jealous git vandalised our last 996, with a key or something and scratched the back quite badly. Now have taken the GT3 in to have the grills fitted to the front PU bumper inlets, and when they were jet washing the back of the car they discovered that some nice oik had bumped the rear bumper and cracked a mounting and cracked the mounting on the rear light cluster. A nice extra bill of 3 to 400 pounds. Yippee isn't Joe Public glorious!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR[][:'(][:'(][]

That's exactly what I do now drive my old Freelander and leave the 997 at home unless I'm off somewhere safe!! I had an old 3.2 Carrera, the car was imaculate, got 2 new wings put on her and a full respray. Parked in the reserved bay at work and a tosser in a blue van got out and dented my door. Purely on purpose I'm sure.
It still makes me mad to think of that....................b*****d!!!!! Oooops!

I'm exactly the same which is a pain in the bum as my 911 is my daily driver! I tend to have to wait until weekends when I can use the Audi for menial tasks like going to the post office.
