Changing the Fuel Pump

Hello,can somebody tell me please,

Where do I find the fuel pump on a 964 C2 ? and is changing it a major job ,or could someone with reasonable mechanical skills do easily ?
The pump in my car seems to work ok ,and although I don't know what pressure it is delivering, the car seems to drive ok with good acceleration which tells me the pressure is good.Problem is the racket that the pump makes when its running,its becoming intolerable ,plus i'm worried it might fail suddenly .

Steve,

From memory I believe it's underneath the car. There is an access panel which needs to be removed. I don't know any more - I've never been there!!
