I hope it is OK to promote a charity classic car rally on this forum![&:] It is a rally that I help organise and there are only two weeks to go and more entrants would be most welcome! The more people we get, the more goes to our nominated charity which this year is Kent Air Ambulance. Here is the blurb:-

Morris Minor Clubs of Kent proudly present present their long awaited end of season rally the 18th Annual Kent Branches Hop! All types of classic cars are welcome, inclusing "modern" classics, and I thought it would be a great idea to invite folks from the 944 forum. I miss driving my S2 and it would be great to see a few of you chaps there. More details available on the website.

Please download entry forms here:-
http://www.kenthop.co.uk

The 2010 Kent Branches HOP this year will be held at BROGDALE FARM
FAVERSHAM, home of the National Fruit Collection and 2010 Faversham Cider Festival, Kent on Sunday 5th September 2010.

entry forms are now available for download from the website! As in previous years, the rally features a organised drive through the beautiful Kent countryside.

Last call for entries! Probably too late now for postal entries, late entries though are more than welcome! How to make a late entry to the HOP If you go to the website http://www.kenthop.co.uk and download the entry form, fill it in to enter on the day and phone Graham Major (phone number is on the entry form) before Saturday night. Graham will give you a HOP number over the phone if you want to enter. IMPORTANT We need to have a HOP number for all late entrants to display in their windscreen to ensure they are allowed into Brogdale by the Swale marshalls, after that you will be guided into the Hop rally field to be entered in and receive your exclusive Hop bumper rally plaque and potteries made luxury fine bone china Hop mug, exclusive Hop program (I wrote that!) and self judging card. Look forward to seeing you on the day, say hello to me (my photo is in the program ).

Hi John,[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I have downloaded the form and spoken to Mrs Major but Graham will not be available until this evening.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I have searched through the pages but cannot find out what time we should be meeting up at Mote Park or when the event is due to end. Will there be signs at Mote Park or is it fairly obvious once one gets there? Coming from St. Albans I am not too familiar with Maidstone. Perhaps you could let me know.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Will you be in the S2 or a Morris Minor?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Regards,[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Thank you Christopher, you are all booked in to the rally now. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your car tomorrow! cheers John

Hi John, It was good meeting you yesterday and many thanks for organising a great day out, and it was satisfying to know that the profits were going to the Kent Air Ambulance service. The ' hop' drive through the Kent countryside and villages was well thought out and it was certainly a change to be driving in company with such a varied range of cars. Obviously the majority of cars on display at the show were Morris Minors of every model but the large number of different marques made interesting viewing but what a shame that I was in the only Porsche there. It was good to see that there was something for everyone with good arena displays, craft and local produce stalls for the less car orientated 'passengers', and something for the children, and food and drink at reasonable prices. I can certainly recommend the event and perhaps next year we can see a good turnout of Porsche (944) cars, I am sure memebers will not be disappointed. Certainly a most enjoyable day and the 200 mile round drive gave the car a good bit of exercise and winning the award for the "Furthest Travelled To Show" was an added bonus. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing more Porsches next year. You all missed out on a good day. Kind regards,
