Post subject:

We're giving 911UK members an early heads up on this event (it's not even been released on our own home page as yet)

For those of you who came along in 2010 you'll be please to know we raised in excess of £65,000 for the Childrens Trust, over 5,000 people came along and the day was a great success.

We're keeping the formula broadly the same for 2011 with a few improvements borne out of the experience we've gained over the last 2 years.

So there will be supercar, caterham and helicopter rides, lots of stuff for kids to get involved with, raffles, fun fairs stands and stalls and so much more than 2010 that i cant fit everything in on one post.

For the moment, i'm inviting 911Uk members to be a central part of the static display, which will mean priority discounted entry, the best parking area and as I promised Sundeep when we last spoke, an opportunity for 2 members to actually take part in the main driving event.

For that i'm unashamedly after the sort of cars and drivers who are likely to pull in people to pay for rides in their cars.

So realistically i'd like a couple of GT3/GT2 or Turbos with drivers who are comfortable on track and willing to give rides in aid of the charity. Of course if there's something unusual that is likely to have the same effect i'm open to suggestions.

All of us on the organisation team give our time for free and the drivers from the last two years have done the same and had a ball.

So, let the conversation begin.....the more cars on display, the more the draw to the public and having seen how you guys rallied to help in 2010 i'm comfortable with the decision to reward that with a couple of driver places.

So thank you for your support in 2010 but being the ex banker that I am, it just means i'm looking for you to raise the bar in 2011!

update.......

Dunsfold Supercar Family Funday aka Dads Day Out
Saturday May 14th 2011

Arguably the best event in the UK's petrolhead calendar returns for it's 3rd year and for 2011 the event will be bigger and better than ever before.

The Supercar Family Funday (held at Dunsfold Park the home of BBC's Top Gear) is an interactive action-packed family event in aid of The Children's Trust Charity in Tadworth.

This event has been co-organised by Petrolhead Nirvana in association with Club Scuderia the Ferrari enthusiasts' site and this year is being sponsored by Shell V-Power. Over 6 months hard (unpaid) work has gone into making this a fantastic day out.

The main attraction of the day will be the 100 or so supercars giving passenger rides around the airfield in exchange for a donation to the charity. The cars will range from a mix of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, Ariel Atom's, KTM X-bow's, Aston Martin's, Dodge Viper's and others as well as a number of niche and even more exotic cars (which will be confirmed nearer the date but are likely to include F40's, McLaren MP4's, SLR's and maybe even the odd Enzo, Zonda and Spyker).

In addition to the main attraction there are also other interactive areas;

The Caterham Club will be demonstrating their form of car control in the shape of donuts and drifting, and will be taking passengers who are brave enough to get involved.

There'll be a chance for kids from 14 upwards to take their first driving lesson in a dual control car next to a trained instructor (of course it's open to anyone above the age of 14 too!).

As if all that wasn't enough, we've also got Spectacular and electrifying stunts from East Coast FMX display team M.A.D. -the UK's number 1 mountain bike stunt & display team. Plus Dunsfold Fire Brigade will demonstrate their life-saving techniques and equipment by responding to a staged Road Traffic Collision.

Kids Zone marquee with Roary the Racing Car & Big Chris, who will appear for meet & greet and photos, a Roary merchandise stall plus a Crafts Zone where children can decorate their own race car to take home, face painting, balloon modeling and a Slot Car competition provided by Slot 32
Helicopter rides from Elite Helicopters- £35 per adult & £30 per child- these can be booked at the event
Routemaster bus rides to transport you in style from the car park to the event arena
Live music in the Bands Tent a variety of bands throughout the day

Fire Engine rides for children

Land Train and Fairground rides including a giant bouncy castle and soft play area plus Cub Carts for 3-9 year olds

Simulator with following experiences: Red Arrows, Ski, Car Rally, Astro Canyon, Glacier Run, Pepsi Max Roller coaster & many more.

Models Zone with model aeroplanes and helicopters from Addlestone Models and model car stalls.

Automobile-themed catering bars from DW Mobile Catering Bars

Static display of over 500 classic & sports cars including a Jordan F1 Racing Car plus a number of aircraft including Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk & Air Support Unit.

More attractions are being confirmed weekly, so keep checking back to find out what else is going on.

There is a large parking area and advance entry costs are £7 per adult and £3 per child. However car clubs who display their cars will only be charged £7 per car with a driver and up to 4 passengers.

Every penny raised from this event goes direct to The Children's Trust.

Gates open to the public from 8.30am and the event starts at 9.00am. The first rides on the circuit will start at 9.00am and will run until 4.30pm (but no later due to noise restrictions at the airfield), so make sure you arrive early.

To book the car club entrance tickets you'll need to follow this link:
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/carclubdisplay

Please only use this link for display passes and do not pass it on to non display members as we want to raise as much for the charity as possible

Please ensure you arrive (if you're part of the car club) before 8.30am to give us enough time to direct you to the display area and enough time for you to set up your stand/marquee if you have one.

We would prefer you to stay for the duration of the show if possible and as there is so much going on during the day it should be a fun time all day.

In order to book rides in advance you'll need to follow this link (don't buy another entry ticket as the "˜display pass' lets you in):
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/shop.asp?section=749&sectionTitle=Dad%27s+Day+Out+tickets

Please make sure you book your rides in advance as there's a limited number and they are likely to be sold out way before the event as it will be advertised in the national and local press, so book early to take advantage of it.

You can also use the same link to book Caterham and Helicopter rides, although the young driver training is not yet available to book online.

We're expecting more than the 5,000 visitors we had in 2010 and of course the more people who attend the more we will raise for The Children's Trust so please pass details of this event on to others. (Members of the public will have to purchase general entry tickets at £7 per person and £3 for a child instead of the £7 car club display ticket) We also have posters and flyers available so if you feel you can help to distribute these then please contact us and we will send you as many as you require.
