If anybody's at a loose end tomorrow evening, some friends of mine have an event to raise cash for a couple of cancer charities (MacMillan and Tak Tent).
They have been rowing 8 million metres on the rowing machines at Greens gym in Finnieston (just next to the squinty bridge and PC World). They've recently finished their mighty effort and are throwing a wee party in the brasserie at the same gym to pull in that last few quid before handing all the money over. There'll be food, drink, a rowing race, a charity auction and a big raffle.
Full details on their website here. Tickets are a tenner, raffle tickets are only a quid. Auction items include signed football shirts and boxing memorabilia, raffle prizes range from mobile phones to car valets.
