Chassis sysyem fault

Hello, my MY2010 4S has a chassis system fault warning on the MFD. I have read the fault and it is the rear acceleration sensor that is faulty, only problem is I have no idea where it is. Has anyone come across this elusive sensor before? Any clues would be appreciated. I think it is item 14 on the picture.

Mick,

The accelerometer will be located on a bracket near the top of the (LHS?) rear damper. Have a look at the PET for your G1 Panamera:

Illustration 502-010 in the Rear Axle group shows the arrangement (item 14), although it's not clear whether it's located inside the car or in the wheel arch (I suspect the former?).

Maybe it's just a bad connection? Incidentally, years ago I had a PASM fault on my 2009 Cayman - it went into the "rock hard" Sport mode! Turned out to be a pinched cable, probably caused during assembly.

Hi Jeff thanks for the reply, I have looked under the car on a ramp and taken the rear undertray off but can't see it anywhere. I would have expected it to be centrally mounted low down and was hoping it might have been on the rear axle carrier but nothing springs out.
I suspect it may be inside the car too as other vehicles have similar sensors mounted inside. I will keep looking, when I find it I will post a pic here.
I have the same symptom here, very hard ride and sport modes are unavailable. The car raises and lowers normally but the damping is shut down so I am suspicious of wiring or a component failure and not an air leak.

Mick,

If it's not high up in the wheel arch, most likely it'll be located under the trim close to the damper top mount to get a representative acceleration response for control.

If you're getting a sensor (diagnostic?) fault, either the sensor has failed or you've got a wiring open-circuit somewhere.

I would have thought that the air suspension system would also require acceleration input for ride control?
