chatsworth 3rd july

hi adam, just wonderd are you local to chatsworth, if so can you recommend any hotels with a car park belonging to them.
i did look on yell.com but only found one 35 miles away.
thanks steve

Steve,

I am originally from Sheffield and can recommend a couple of hotels....

For a nice stay with wonderful food but a bit pricey (IMO) try either Fischers Hall or the Cavendish Hotel.
For something a bit more relaxed on the side of a pub, still with excellent food try the Devonshire Arms in Baslow, my wife & I often visit when visiting the Peaks.

Hope you find somewhere.....

Regards,
Simon

Hi Steve,
I see that Simon has beaten me to it, he has given you the places I would have suggested. There are also a few hotels in Bakewell, Grindleford and Hathersage that have nice hotel but i do not know their names. It may be worth checking on Google for them. I am out tonight on a PCGB run round Derbyshire hence cannot look them uo for you but i will look later in the week

Regards

Adam
PS I have just entered 'Bakewell Accommodation' on Google and it comes up with 4 pages of hotels & B+B's took look at, hope this helps'

Hi steve,
Have you thought about staying in or around Holmfirth(last of the summer wine town)?
R7 will be meeting at Flouch Inn @10.15located at the junction of A616/A628.
Last year there was about 11 vehicles, including my own 911 1987 targa sport, expertly led by Ian McKay.
A most enjoyable run over. Hope to see you there

Andy & Ryan Kenworthy

What a great day at Chatsworth, there were quite a few 3.2's present, more than I expected.
The weather was better than forecasts had suggested earlier this week, concourse cars were well presented and there were lots of raffle prizes although most went to pink ticket holders whilst mine were green--typical no luck.

Randolph's team deserve to be congratulated for their efforts-- Thakns Randolph

Hope to see more 3.2's at Chatsworth next year.

Regards

Adam

Hi adam, must agree with you, good day out.
travelled up last night with the wife and stayed in a local b & b (grouse and claret, very nice), got out this morning to find car full of tree zap, went to local jet wash and give it a quick spray overand find that the water or the cloth made all the paint streak and go horrible so had to find a car shop and cleanse the pait and then rewax, this was at 11am so only had an hour to do it all in as judging was from 12 pm....
i think that the visitors class was not to fair ( for thoese who did not go) all vistors wear in one catorgary regardless of age of car......what win, a brand new car.

but in all.. good day and a nice long drive from home and back.
see next year.

steve

I joined the Region 7 convy of around 15 cars along some fantastic 'b' roads to Chatsworth house. This was quite a sight for all the ramblers that stopped in their tracks to admire the marque.

There was a really good turnout on the day and some fantastic looking 3.2's. The black CS was paticularly nice (the previous owner had no idea it was a CS and sold it for next to nothing)

I still can't get over the chickens that pinched food out of my daughters hands (much to her distress)
