Cheap 16v 928

Hi all (old and new),

Hope you are all well and some of the old faces still pop in from time to time as I still do[:)]

Just doing a sort of mutual favour to both sides by mentioning that the director of our company is looking to rid himself of his 1984 928 16v and it's going fairly cheap.

It's an Auto in red. He had a problem with the idler valve where it started stalling during the summer. He's got it running now but basically he's lost interest in the car since it came off the road.

To my eyes its a scruffy but genuine car with a good engine in it. No hint of oil smoke and pulls hard, feels pretty solid and looks pretty solid.

He wants £3000 for it which seems to me to be a good deal.

Thought I'd see if I could tempt anyone here?

Regards,

Ben

pm me any questions/enquiries and I will happily put you in touch

I am very good. Glad to hear you are still in the 944. I don't think the urge to return will ever leave me.

How are they doing in terms of rot? They must be getting few and far between now!

Hi Ben
I'm still here too!
£3 is a decent price and I'd love to havr the space for a 928.
People are re doing the sills on 944s more frequently now, so the prognosis for the 944 blood line is improving.
Cheers

Ben, there are still plenty of " good uns" about quite a few of them owned by people who frequent here which is a no brainer really, would love a 928 but i am in the process of thinning my car count due to financial reasons !
Bloody skint at the end of each month []
The 944's however will be resident in Frenchy towers for a good while yet, in fact they are worth more than i paid for them and will only appreciate and i get to drive them and tinker [:D]
Another no brainer !

Is that Mad Mini still in one piece [:D]

Good good. So long as there are still enough good ones around for me to buy myself one again one day (it will happen eventually, just a matter of timing). Not so keen on this talk of rising values though[;)]

Mini gone. Had an M135i (which had a ridiculous pedal offset that killed my knee) and briefly a Cayman S but it was bad news they REALLY don't build them like they used to! You wouldn't find a 41k mile old 944 with that many faults even if it had done 40k around the Nurburg driven by an ape!!

Consequently I am also in one of those money saving moments and currently back in a typical VAG fall back option. An a3 2.0 tfsi Quattro. Not exactly ripping tarmac off the road but a good all rounder with plentiful cheap parts to keep running and to play. Perfect for the winter. Mildly envious of something to 'drive'.
