cheap 944 on pistonheads @ £1250.

Doesn't seem to be too bad a car at the money and they will probably take an offer. As you will see, its a million miles from me and nothing to do with me.

Has anybody seen this car yet? Am looking for a 944 in the UK since the prices here are appallingly low compared to mainland EU; RHD seems like a small sacrifice..
Cheers, Hans

Still, I'd be interested if anyone has seen the car, if anything to gauge what you can expect for such a price..

It's a 1989 car - so should have all the right bits (apart from M030 suspension) . It has Clubsport wheels & a blue studio cloth.

I just got a 87 944S for £1400 with 119K on the clock and came with 10 months MOT, has full service history and all previous MOT certificates and receipts..

In the current economic climate it is quite possible to find a good bargain.

That's that dark red from Pistonheads with the personalised plate isn't it? Is it as good as it was described? In any case, asking price in mainland EU would be more than double that, maybe even triple. Again, RHD seems like a small sacrifice...

'89 Turbos all had M030 as well as the forged alloys. The only differences between them and the Silver Rose spec was the windscreen and the addition of the sunroof.

Why not look for a LHD 944 in the UK - that would be really, really cheap. My (originally German, arrived in the UK via France) LHD S2 went to Denmark many years ago.

How about a cheap turbo?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/880586.htm

can't see exactly what "minor cosmetic attention" it needs (maybe it means rusted to bits?), but a 250 turbo for 3k sounds cheap to me. 168k, but with OPC and Autofarm history
Looks like a good price, but hard to tell the condition of the bodywork as it is filthy dirty in the pictures.

It does look like there is rust around the left-hand boot catch. Look at piccies 3 and 4 closely.

Oli.

I looked at the ad on behalf of one of my members. I got concerned with the comment about scabs on sills & possible pudding in the other. Having lashed out 1400 on sills on mine 2 years ago I wouldn't want someone to go down that route.
There is another dark red one on Fleabay which looks a good buy as well.
