I've recently treated our 968 to a new soft and since that went well I ordered a new boot (tonneau) cover in cobalt blue which has arrived but needs to go to the trimmer as the fittings are supplied seperately for bespoke fitting!

Here's the best bit the new top including import vat was just under £350 fitting was £300 by Howard Sands (does all OPC Colchester soft tops) who is based in Crowfield, North of Ipswich.

Both items were sourced from German Auto Tops in California the Soft Top was $500 + £28 import vat!

The boot cover (covers hood when down) was $390 (£269.52+£23 import vat!) these are normally dearer than the soft tops but John has some Porsche Cobalt blue material which he purchased at a good price from a closing down sale!

Prices from USA included carriage!

GAT supply Soft tops right up to Boxster, roof linings, seat covers and carpet sets (for early models up to 993).

They are very helpful provide a quick service with a choice of material quality from OEM spec to cheaper choices!

If you need a new top check out www.germanautotops.com

Hi Ken,

Only just picked up your forum request to email as not had much time to look lately, I suspect you might have emailed me since then?

I will be at EMC on Saturday!

Kind Regards

Tony
