I was rather hoping prices might be on their way up, but maybe not.

Neither number rings (dead lines) and both cars are advertised well below what they are worth!!!

It smells like a scam [X(]

I'm not sure this is a scam - the car was on sale 2 years ago (advertised on PCGB) in London & went to a chap (forum member) with a large collection of 944's in Yorkshire. I have lots of pics from the PO.

That Silver Rose isn't worth much more than 2k - it's very very rusty. (I think that's what I offered the PO) From what I saw of the pics it would need a lot of body repairs and then a full respray. After that it's still a 200k+ car. Nice interior though... Worth more in bits I guess, when the engine would miraculously lose all those miles...[8|]

The red one was sold within an hour of being listed. If its not a scam someone has a bargain. It says it was owned by a PCGB member for 25 years so maybe someone knows it.

Here's the reply I've just had from the seller [:-]

Hi,

The total price is £2000 including the shipping to your address. Price reduced for quick sale, and i have decided to sell it for a lower price because i need the money.
Currently i am located in Northern part of United Kingdom, in a beautiful sea-side city called Thurso, because i just finished the divorce with my wife and i have moved here to my parents home. The payment will be made through eBay and only after you will receive the item, i will receive the payment.
It will take around 3-5 working days until you will receive the item and you will have a 3 days inspection period (so you have 3 days to change your mind and refuse or keep it). Also, I need to know if you have cash in hand because I have a lot buyers interested in the purchase and I don't have time to waste. No offense but if you really want to buy it I will stop communicating with the other interested buyers.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so i can initiate the deal through eBay. You must know that eBay will contact you without any obligation to buy it or fees.
I will wait your answer (if you are interested to buy) very soon.

Regards

Definitely a scam then [;)]

Wouldn't have thought many people would get caught with that. You smell a rat as soon as you read the email and the guff about Thurso [:D]

I have texted Ian - eBay account hacked. He can't get onto pcgb either. So, definitely scams. Ian is trying to sort it out.

It seems that the Silver Rose listing has been pulled as well!

If you wish to talk about cheap 951s then check this one out!:

Whilst I admit the Fuchs wheels are lovely on that, the price I am not so sure on, even in cars in Ireland command a premium over their UK counterparts. OTOH I am not sure why I mention this, since such examples only aid to boost the value of ours potentially.

The back end of that car looks like a US car or is it a different sort of kit?

This car is being auctioned today by Cheshire Classic Car Auctions at 1pm

80,000 miles, comprehensive history with last owner for 5 years.

One problem which has come to light that the seller wasn't aware of, it is Cat D and has had a full new interior and some wiring/ECU's replaced so either a fire or water damage at some point [:(]

Estimate £8-9k so will be watching to see how it does.

Car in Ireland has the horrible US Spec bumpers, not to keen on that aerial fitted to the rear wing also.

By all accounts he has had the car 5 years with no issues and was very surprised to hear it was Cat D.

Looking at its condition and mileage I don't think the price is too far off. Also if the issue was over 10 years ago will it matter that much in another 5 years?
